Pandering, er, I mean tours.

Tours

Now that the presumptive presidential nominee for the Democrats knows who’s she’ll be running against, she’s going “touring” again.  First “listening” and now “breaking down barriers.”  We thought we’d offer up a few tours that will likely be high on Hillary’s list of tour topics.

  1. Kill Coal Industry Tour (unless I’m in West Virginia then Go Mountaineers Tour)

  2. Make America Average Again Tour

  3. My God, Can’t We Keep the Bimbos From Bill Tour

  4. Bernie is Such a Pussy Tour

  5. Watch Me Finish Bernie Off Like Roman Gladiator Against a Peasant Tour

  6. Never Poor Again Tour

  7. Hurry To The White House Before the Ghosts of Politics Past Come Back to Haunt Me Tour

  8. Where’s MY “Tingle-up-the-leg” Moment? Tour

  9. Can’t Blame You Bill, I’d Do Her Too Tour

  10. The Frank Underwood’s An Amatuer Tour

  11. Inappropriate Cackling Tour

  12. Pantsuit on Fire Tour

  13. Opaque Transparency Tour

  14. Transparent Opaque Tour

  15. Dammit Just Coronate Me Already Tour

Never mind, she’s already rolling along on all of these tours at once.  Let’s just call it the Tour Tour.

Who’s responsible for the rise of Trump?

Reason for Trump

Donald Trump is storming through the Republican primary to the surprise of just about everyone.  It seems as though the worse the behavior, the bigger the following.  We discussed this in an earlier post so we won’t replay that here.

But who’s to blame for Trump’s rise?

If you look at recent editorial cartoons, Frankenstein’s monster is the latest metaphor used to explain it.  Just check out the examples below.  The Republican establishment and Fox News appear to be popular.  But we think there’s a simpler explanation.

Mike Luckovich

The best explanation is to look no further than Obama.  A huge segment of the population isn’t pleased with the direction this country has been taken.  It’s not just the policies, it’s Obama’s childlike qualities, and we don’t mean an honest, doe-eyed innocence.  We’re speaking of his callow actions as he attempts to build a legacy.  A legacy that has more in common with a petulant toddler than the leader of the free world.  Check out this ever expanding list:

Childlike

Voter’s want something the opposite of what we currently have.  Unfortunately with the pendulum having swung so far in one direction, the kinetic energy during it’s reverse course will swing us too far along an about-faced bearing.  Trump is the anti-Obama, but not in a good way.

Too big to squish

Raid

If the Republican party ever wanted to implement their own kind of honor killing it may be now.  That is, taking out a member of the family for bringing shame or dishonor upon the household.  Many even outside of the GOP establishment consider what he’s doing an embarrassment.  Spewing foul language, talking down to opponents, and belittling those who disagree; all part of his collective poke in the eye to the PC culture.  Refreshing in some respects, but only if it’s from a reality TV show moderator.  Conduct that’s particularly far from presidential behavior.

Of course, he actually is the host of the latest reality TV craze that’s playing out daily in front of live audiences everywhere, it’s called Groveling for Vice Presidency.

An unexpected Trump fan.

Trump Fan
Hillary and her minions must be quietly praising Trump for storming into the picture and turning the Republican establishment on itself.  As long as he continues to stay in this race, and it certainly looks like he has staying power, the more the focus leaves her and bores in on the GOP divide.

At the end of a Presidential election, voters often consider it a choice of the lesser of two evils.  That’s likely due to the continued negative campaigning to the point where each of the candidates have been torn down in the eyes of the voters.  The GOP candidates are doing just that for the primary!  By the time they get to the general election the victor will be scared, beaten, burned, and basted leaving Hillary to sweep in unscathed.  Please quit giving her a reason to cackle.

CNN, with careful editing, helps us focus on their version of Trump’s message

CNN is helping us all with time management by clipping out context from interviews.  Check out how CNN edited Donald Trump’s statements during an “interview” with an NBC reporter.  Why waist valuable video time leaving in material that could place context on what a candidate is discussing, especially when it doesn’t fit your agenda (sarcasm).

Here’s how the video came across originally on CNN.

Reporter: Should there be a database that tracks Muslims entering this country?

Trump: There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases. We should have a lot of systems, and today you can do it.

Reporter: Is that something your White House would like to implement?

Trump: I would certainly implement that. Absolutely.

CNN Video of Trump’s Comments

Now for that oh-so-unnecessary video portion that provides context in bold.

Reporter: Should there be a database that tracks Muslims entering this country?

Trump: There should be a lot of systems, beyond databases. We should have a lot of systems, and today you can do it. But right now we need to have a border, we have to have strength we have to have a wall, and we cannot let what’s happening to this country happen any longer.

Reporter: Is that something your White House would like to implement?

Trump: I would certainly implement that. Absolutely.

Shame on CNN for editing, shame on NBC for deploying gotcha questions, and also shame on Trump for not listening carefully to the question.
